Dear HoC members and friends, We are certainly living in strange times, aren’t we? Here we are in the midst of a global pandemic! Our physical doors may be closed, but our church is very much open for business, albeit in a new way. Know that your church family is here for you and praying for you! We’re gathering for worship! Worship has moved online to our website and Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church Facebook page (see the “Important Information” page inside for details on how to join us). We will do our best to make our virtual worship services as accessible to as many people as possible during this time. Please join us for worship & fellowship!

We’re taking care of one another! Session members, deacons and Care & Fellowship folks are calling to check in with everyone regularly. I will also be calling to check in on folks during this time. We will do our best to stay connected, but please take the initiative and reach out to us if you need anything!

We’re taking care of our neighbors in our community! Our Mission & Outreach volunteers are continuing their work to help the homeless and hungry in our community during this time. If you would like to donate or assist in their efforts, please contact Debbie Reeves at (302)-598-2569 or Debbie_Reeves@comcast.net

Thank you for giving to our church! We really appreciate you sending in your financial gifts. This keeps us financially stable during this time when we’re not meeting in-person. Please continue to give as you are able. You can send in a check to the church. We’re also setting up an online giving option – watch for more details.

Think like a deacon! Our ordained officers and volunteers are working hard to check in with folks. but we all need to take responsibility for taking care of one another. Reach out daily to at least one person in the church or in the community to see how they’re doing. And pray for one another. Use the HoC directory to pray through a certain number of names daily. Let’s minister to one another during this time! Let’s stay connected!

We’re all learning how to be the church in this new situation! They don’t teach “How to Pastor During a Global Pandemic” in seminary! Fortunately, I have a lot of support from you all, as well as from the presbytery and ministry colleagues. Thanks for your patience and support as we learn how to be the church together during this challenging time.

We’ll get through this together! Jesus promised to never leave us or forsake us. Let us take comfort in Christ’s presence with us through the Spirit, and let’s share Jesus’ love and comfort with one another during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at any time.
Blessings,

Hilary
