It is hard to believe that we are coming up on September already!
Soon the leaves will be changing, the weather will be getting cooler,
and we will soon be bombarded with all things pumpkin-spice. Fall is
also a time of transition for many . kids go back to school, adults return
to work after summer vacation, and activities that take a break over the
summer start-up again. September is a time of new beginnings . a new
school year, a new season, a time to start fresh and begin new ventures.

This September will be an exciting time in the life of Head of Christiana Presbyterian
Church. We have many new and exciting things coming up in the life and work of our
church. In September, New Castle Presbytery will be installing me as your pastor on
Sunday, September 10th at 3:00 pm. The following week, on September 17th, we’ll be
celebrating our annual Rally Day and kicking off Sunday school classes for all ages. We’ll
also be having some conversations around the topic of Stewardship during coffee hours
on September 17th and 24th.

Then in October, we will start the month celebrating World Communion Sunday on
October 1st with a selection of breads from around the world during communion and
coffee hour. We’re also commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Protestant
Reformation with special music, hymns and readings in our regular Sunday worship and
in community events.

September is a time of new beginnings. It is also a great time to renew our
commitment to God and be open to new things God may be doing in our lives. May we
have open eyes and open hearts to see and receive the new things God has for us this fall.

“See, I am making all things new.” – Revelation 21:5

Blessings,

  Hilary
