As you know, we’re in the midst of a study and sermon series on The Story: The Bible as One Continuous Story of God and God’s People. We’ve been following the “upper story” of God’s overarching plan to rescue humanity and all creation from the curse of sin and death.

This is played out through the “lower story” of the lives of the individual men and women recorded in the Bible. We’ll soon be entering the New Testament portion of The Story, the part where God fulfills the promises made to his people in the person and work of the messiah, Jesus the Christ. Our series aligns perfectly with the upcoming season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6th. We’ll learn about the life of Jesus and why his ministry, teaching, miracles, sacrificial death and resurrection are so crucial to God’s overarching “upper story” plan of salvation for humankind.
If you’ve been following along with the reading, you’ll see how the main story of God’s redemption all fits together in Christ. If you’ve gotten a bit behind in the reading, or haven’t started yet, Lent is a great time to jump in with the New Testament portion of The Story. Let’s read, study and learn together God’s story this Lenten season. Let’s also see how God’s story impacts our story today. Join in The Story this Lent!

Blessings,

Pastor Hilary
