Fall is upon us, and we are in full-swing with lots of ministry events and opportunities at our church this season. I’m so excited about our church-wide reading and study on The Story: The Bible as One Continuous Story of God and God’s People. Our children, youth, and adults are learning more about the big-picture story of the Bible through our education classes and sermon series. There’s still time to participate, so please see Pastor Hilary if you would like a book. Read along with us (we’ll be covering one chapter per week), and join us for an informative class and discussion at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings.

There are also several fun fellowship and community outreach opportunities for the whole family happening in October here at HoC. Our popular Tea & Hygge group is starting up again on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM in the pastor’s study. You can also bring the whole family and join us for our fall walk on Sunday, November 14th. Have a “spooktacular” time with our friends at First PC Newark as we join them for the second annual “Trunk or Treat” community event on Saturday, October 27th. And celebrate our Presbyterian heritage on Reformation Sunday, October 28th in worship.

We also have opportunities to give and serve during this fall season at HoC. It’s stewardship season – a time to reflect upon the gifts God has generously given to us and make a financial commitment to support the work of this congregation. We are also collecting our denominational Peace and Global Witness Offering, culminating on World Communion Sunday, October 7th. Your generous gifts to our church and our denominational offerings enable us to shine the light of Christ’s love into our community and throughout the world. Thank you for sharing your gifts of time, talent, and treasure with our congregation. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

Let us celebrate God’s bounty to us and our congregation this October at HoC!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits.” (Psalm 103:1-2)
