It’s hard to believe we’re already on the cusp of the fall season once
again! We’ve had quite a year, filled with both challenges and hope for the
future. I’ve always felt like fall is a season of new beginnings.
As churches tend to follow a school schedule, fall is a time to begin
a new year with new possibilities. We’re hopeful to bring back some of the
things we had to put on hold last year.
We’re having Rally Day on Sunday, September 12th on which Sunday school classes will
begin after more than a year on hiatus. We are also planning on bringing back the choir to
worship, joined by several music students from the University of Delaware as part of our
choral scholar program.
We’ll also be kicking off our annual Stewardship Campaign – an opportunity to express
gratitude for the many bountiful gifts God has given us, while also prayerfully making a
financial commitment to support the ministry God is calling our church to do in our
community.
It has been a challenging season, but God is faithful and there is hope on the horizon.
As we begin this season of new hope and new possibilities, let us give thanks to God for all
God has done for us!
Blessings,
Pastor Hilary
“The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or
abandon us, but incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his
commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our ancestors.”
– 1 Kings 8:57-58
