Thank you all for such a wonderful
sendoff on my last Sunday with you!
It was bittersweet – a joy to celebrate our ministry together, yet sad to
depart after nearly eight years together. I’ll miss all of you, and I wish
you all the best on the next chapter of your ministry. I’m continuing to
pray for your next pastor – that God will bring you the right individual
to lead you in this next season of your ministry. I’m also praying for
the transition process that I know can be difficult. You got this!
Remember the messages from scripture to guide and encourage you along the way:
1. Do not worry or fear – trust God to provide!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses
all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
2. Keep showing up for one another.
“Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is
faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting
to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you
see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:23-25
3. Put on your best.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a
complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also
must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect
harmony.” – Colossians 3:12-14
4. God will finish the work.
“I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete
it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
I close with my prayer for you from Philippians 1:3-4, 9-11:
“I thank my God for every remembrance of you, always in every one of my prayers for all of
you, praying with joy for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now…And this
is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to
help you to determine what really matters, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and
blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for
the glory and praise of God.”
Blessings,
Pastor Hilary
